After Sgt. Pepper, there were no rules to follow -- rock and pop bands could try anything, for better or worse. Ironically, few tried to achieve the sweeping, all-encompassing embrace of music as the Beatles did here. [Sgt. Pepper's was re-released in mono on vinyl in 2014.]

What I like the most about it is the crazy extra sounds in the Sgt. Pepper reprise, but what I dislike the most comes a few seconds earlier, the more awkward (to me) chicken clucking transition from Good Morning, Good Morning to the reprise. I like the stereo for its clarity, but the mono does have more punch. Joel1963, Jan 6, 2014.

The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (LP, Album, Mono) Label: Parlophone Cat#: PMC 7027. Media Condition: Media: Very Good (VG) Noticeable groove wear and light scratches. "The Beatles" (the White Album) was also originally released in mono. Fun fact - the mono and stereo mixes of all Beatles albums are different in details such as instrumentation and sound effects (go listen to the mono and stereo versions of "Got to Get You Into My Life" from "Revolver" or "Good Morning, Good Morning" from "Sgt. Pepper's" if you doubt it..
